Anais Toudouze framed print. Size 33cm (13″) x 42cm (16.5″) This beautiful print shows two fashionable young women from the mid 1800’s. The print was taken from La Mode Illustree magazine which highlighted French fashion from this time period. One figure is standing holding a fan. The other figure is seated. Both are attired in very detailed dresses and accessories from that era. It is a very atmospheric picture created in subtle colours. It could be a reprint from the 1950’s judging by the frame. The frame is made from some kind of manufactured material and has some scuffing. However, the print appears to be in very good condition. Anais Toudouze (1822-1899) was a key illustrator for ‘La Mode Illustrèe’ fashion magazine during the 1850-60s and came from a family of fashion illustrators and engravers.
