Description
Wood framed watercolour print of a street scene, probably Bruges, by the Serbian-French artist Nicolas Markovitch (1894-1964). The print is signed ‘Marc’ in the lower left-hand corner. The chromolithograph is from the renowned Swiss printmaker Steheli Freres, Zurich, and their logo (which dates to the 1950s) is placed on the bottom right corner. The frame also dates to the 1950s-60s and measures 50cm x 41.5cm. The artwork is under glass and measures 40.5cm x 30cm within a beige matte with bevelled edges. The frame is firm but has edge wear, particularly in the bottom right corner. The glazing is sound but in need of a clean. The print itself is intact and appears to show only very light age-related blemishes, fading and discolouration.
